Dark Green Goodness

July 9, 2010

This recipe comes from our good friend Ross at energiseforlife.com and is taken from his Alkaline Diet Cook Book that he launched just last month.

It is a combination of the most alkalizing, energizing green foods, is packed full of chlorophyll from the green veggies and gives you a great energy boost!

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks of celery
  • 2 sticks of chard
  • 1 large handful of baby spinach leaves
  • 1 cucumber
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 broccoli head and stalk

Juice these all together and enjoy the energy buzz! Ross has heaps more alkaline recipes over at his Alkaline Diet Blog.

I am looking for a smoothie recipe that I was told about that is supposed to help with macular degeneration. It includes kale, collard greens, apple juice, and red/purple grapes. I would like to have it for my Mom who already has this disease and I am looking to drink it myself as I am worried that I may develop it also. Does it matter how much of each ingredient I put in it? Any help or even a different recipe would help. Thank you for your help! Sherry

Hi Joan, this recipe was submitted by Ross and I believe its a juice (to be juiced, not blended) so no water is necessary.

hi my name is Donna, glad to meet you. I am seeing a kidney Dr because my readings were high three months ago, readings seem to be coming down to where it should be when she took me off of water pill and another blood presure pill. Anyhow my question for you would be, what type of a healthy drink do you reccomend for me. Thank you so much, Donna NYC
