Sweeteners (if you must)
Some people just can’t shake the sweet-tooth and adding fruit doesn’t quite do it. This list is very short but when sweetening your green smoothie is needed, these are the healthiest ways to go.
- Agave Nectar – produced from the agave plant, low glycemic index compared to sugar or honey.
- Dates – lower glycemic index than agave, high in potassium and delicious!
- Honey – those with blood sugar issues stay clear.
