Looking for a morning coffee alternative? Something that will still wake you up and give you a boost of energy?

This is perfect. Wheatgrass is pure pick-me-up; pure energy, and with all the vitamin C from the oranges, its everything you need to get up and going (check the ingredients page to learn about all the health benefits).

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch wheatgrass
  • 2 oranges (peeled)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice

The amount of grass I used is shown in the photo (3×3 sprout box). If you have a masticating juicer you can juice 2-4oz. and throw it into the blender. Otherwise you can do what I did and use the whole grass.

Enjoy your perfect coffee alternative.

If you don’t have the actual wheatgrass but I do have the wheatgrass that is already ground up into a bottle from a health food store? Is that the same? The store clerk said it was. If so how much of that is the same to use? Thanks love your site and recipes!

It’s not entirely the same. Fresh is always greater than processed.

I would use 1 or 2 of the recommended servings and possibly cut the orange down to 1. Play with it.

Hey well fist of all im diggin your site of all these recipes bro.. but anyways my questions are can you just throw in the wheatgrass in your blender cause i just have a normal blender and how many drinks would you drink a day to loose wieght and be healthy? thanks and much appreciated

I’d replace the weatgrass with spinach or something easier on the blender…or just buy some pre-pressed wheatgrass from a place like Jamba Juice, etc.

The second question is harder to answer…it depends on how much weight, what you consider healthy, etc. At any rate, adding green drinks will most certainly help in both areas.
